Our History

Crystaclear was established in 1972 as Crystaclear Pool Services, one of Australia's original pool maintenance businesses and regarded as the first to introduce liquid chlorine feeders to the Australian market. Three generations later, the company has evolved from a service-only operation into a water treatment technology firm with a national customer base and international project experience.

Who we are now

Led by director Nick Briscoe, Crystaclear develops proprietary water treatment chemistry and sanitation systems for the Australian and international pool and wellness industries. Our formulations are used by major manufacturers and distributors across Australia, Europe, and South-East Asia. We hold Australian patents in water sanitation technology and our systems have been approved for commercial use by local government authorities.

Nick is a qualified plumber and hydraulic designer with trade qualifications in mechanical services, construction, and electrical applications. He works as a water treatment consultant to Waterco Limited, one of Australia's largest pool equipment and chemical manufacturers, and sits as a member of the AS3633 Australian Standards committee for swimming pool water quality.

We formulate the chemistry

Most pool service companies buy chemicals from a supplier and apply them to the label. We formulate them. We design the treatment systems. We understand the science at the molecular level, because we created it.

We service nationally and internationally

Headquartered on the Gold Coast, with customers in every Australian state and territory, plus active international project work. We go where city contractors won't, including regional and remote council facilities.

We work remotely when on-site isn't economic

Diagnosing a problem doesn't always require being on site. Our formulation depth and diagnostic process let us design treatment programs remotely, a capability most providers can't offer.

Awards & Recognition

Our world-first water sanitation system, Oxi Swim, developed in partnership with Waterco Limited, was named 2022 Product of the Year by the Master Pool Builders Association Australia (MPBAA). The system was rigorously tested at Somerset College and approved for commercial use by Gold Coast City Council, one of the few regional councils in Australia requiring licensed operation of commercial swimming pools.
